Ahmed Fawzi struck in the sixth minute of extra time to seal a 2-1 win for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the third-place playoff of the AFC U23 Asian Cup on Saturday.

The match at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha saw the UAE come from behind to claim bronze. China took the lead through Xie in the 48th minute, but Fawzi's late goal sent the UAE fans into raptures.

The AFC U23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 has come to a successful conclusion with Iraq and Indonesia set to face off in the final on Sunday.
